So just think about this, Boston makes millions of dollars a day and now with the bombing there’s going to be a lot more tourist right? with “Boston Strong” merchandise etc. they’ll make about 2 maybe 3 times the money they did before. the country’s in debt and that’s one of our county’s biggest concerns right now. By them making all this merchandise and all the sad and heroic stories, it will help them pay the debt by attracting tourist. Also, many people stereotype muslims to be terrorists. As you know Jahar is a muslum. By many people stereotyping muslims as terrorists, it would make the FBI’s lie even more believable.

ok OP if you knew absolutely ANYTHING about this you would realize that all profits from the Boston strong merchandise go directly to the One Fund for the victims of the bombing. so the city of Boston itself isn’t making any money at all from the merch. the money goes to the people who were injured or killed and their families. and the whole “Boston strong” campaign was started by the Bruins, so your argument is invalid, unless you come up with a new theory about how our hockey team planned the bombing.

FYI I’m from Boston and nobody is making three times the money they did before. the businesses on Boylston street where the bombs went off are still shut down and boarded up, so they’re not making ANY money. the government lost millions of dollars cleaning up the destruction and the overtime for all the police officers and FBI agents and forensics teams that worked for a week straight. the day of the manhunt every business within 30 miles of Boston was shut down. that’s millions upon millions of dollars lost.

yeah and like we needed a bombing to happen for our city to get tourists. if you weren’t such a dumbass maybe you would do some research and find out Boston is already one of the biggest tourist destinations in the world. the fucking American Revolutionary War was fought here. ever heard of the Boston Tea Party? it’s first grade history class shit. America was pretty much born here. I don’t think the government is worrying about how they should try to top that.

we get tourists from every single country swarming the place every day. I can’t even walk to school without tripping over people taking pictures. and this was before the bombing. we actually have LESS tourists now because who the fuck would want to visit a place where a terrorist attack recently happened.

also, everybody fucking hates tourists.

and the city isn’t in debt. you seem to be confusing us with Detroit. Boston has been flourishing recently. the city has been growing bigger and the economy’s been doing great compared to the rest of the country. that’s why we have so many annoying ass yuppies moving in, so tell me more about how we needed the tourist revenue.

and no one thinks Dzhokhar is a terrorist because he’s a Muslim. we think he’s a terrorist because he is a terrorist. and calling him a Muslim is pretty much an insult to normal Muslims. he’s an Islam extremist. Muslims would not consider him one of them.

before you come up with theories you should probably attempt to do research and know what you’re talking about, and then brush up on your critical thinking skills because I literally can’t even fathom the amount of stupidity that went into this post.

This is really interesting! I’d be even more interested to get a reading on this that looks at ethnic power dynamics with Homme Fatals as well.

My white, cisgendered, heterosexual, able-bodied male friend just pointed out to me how problematic it is that it’s so rare to have any non-white male mastermind villains in the style of Lecter, and since I so often read really great character breakdowns based around queer and gender theory, I can’t help but be fascinated and hopeful that this angle could be examined as well.

Honestly, I don’t think I could do it myself, but I’m eager to read anyone who gives it a try.
